Teach Your Child Not to Talk to Strangers

Teach Your Child Not to Talk to Strangers

Many children are outgoing and helpful toward other people. That’s a good thing because it means they have developed empathy skills at an early age. However, there are cases when they become too friendly that they entertain strangers. As educators in Montessori School in Jessup, Maryland, it’s not something that we encourage because that is a safety risk.

As a parent, you must educate your child not to talk to strangers or try to help them. Strangers will never approach children when they need help. No matter how friendly or nice a stranger appears to be, you must educate your child to say no.

When you teach your child in their early years not to talk to strangers, it can help keep them safe in at home and in their Montessori preschool in Maryland. If ever a stranger walks up to them and ask for help or offer treats, advise your child to either say no, walk away or run toward a familiar adult like a teacher. You must also educate your child to call for help in case they feel threatened by someone.

In our Montessori daycare, we don’t only value your child’s learning development. We also give importance to their safety. If you want to enroll your child at Maple Lawn Montessori of Laurel, get in touch with us today!
